Edible Cookie Dough

Edible cookie dough is a thing in the Midwest. Shopping malls especially tantalize your tastebuds with the bright colors and flavor options at the edible cookie dough stand. But if your wallet is anything like mine, it may not be thick enough for the family to treat themselves at the mall.

For a fraction of the cost you can make your own edible cookie dough at home. This recipe was a hit in my home and hardly lasted two days. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of butter softened

  • 3/4 Cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

  • 1/4 Cup yogurt (plain or flavored)

  • 1 Teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/4 Cups flour (I used gluten free)

  • 1 Cup old fashion oats

  • 1/4 Cup chocolate chips

  • 1/4 Cup white chocolate chips

  • 1/4 Cup rainbow sprinkles

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl mix together the butter, sugars, vanilla, yogurt, baking soda, and salt

  2. Mix in flour and oats until well blended

  3. Mix in chocolate chips and sprinkles

  4. Place batter into airtight container and let set in fridge for 4 hours.

  5. Serve in a dish, ice cream cone, or with a scoop of ice cream.

Store in fridge in airtight container for up to three days (but let's be honest, it won't last that long)!
