Saving The Best For Last

Are there any dessert lovers out there? Me too! I love a good baked from scratch dessert, especially when it compliments a lovely home-made meal. The smell of warm chicken pot pie, fresh dinner rolls, and apple crisp baking makes my insides (and outsides) smile.

If your family is anything like mine- that scrumptious dessert is saved for the end of the meal. No one gets dessert until after they have cleaned their plate (or at least taken one “no thank you bite”). That dessert is saved for the end of the meal, because it is the sweetest part of the meal.

And wouldn’t you know, we as humans do this with other things too… save the best for last. Anyone eat lucky charms cereal and save all those marshmallows until the end? Or what about eating the crust of a pop tart first before enjoying the decadent center? How about saving (or stashing) your most coveted Halloween candy for a rainy day? Or saving the “good bottle” of wine to age longer for a very special occasion?

Or how about at weddings when the best and sappiest slow dance song plays as you sway back and forth with your date one final time. Or what about the grand finale of your favorite concert (often the best singing, lights, effects, and dancing is at the end)?

I believe that God designed us this way as he himself often saves the best for last. We are made in his image after all, right?

When do the rainbows come? after the summer thunderstorm. When does God often perform miracles? when there is no other choice and he gets to claim the power and glory. And who was the very last person God created on day six? That would be Eve.

You heard me right ladies… God saved the very best for last. His grand masterpiece- full of wonder, mystery, intrigue, compassion, hope, beauty, and heart- women!

God could have create man (Adam) and been done. He could have had a bunch of Adams roaming Earth, probably to and fro, never asking for any directions. Hahaha!

But no! God looked on the sixth day of creation and saw something was missing. In all the things God created days one through six, something was still missing. So to complete the Earth, God decided he needed to create women. God completed Earth via the creation of women.

Holy moly ladies- God knew that earth wouldn’t be complete without us. Let that soak in for a moment- we complete the earth ladies. Not only that, but we are Gods final masterpiece, his very best for last!

I want to encourage you that if you feel less than, discouraged, undeserving, beneath someone, or unlovable- that God saw the world and saw that it needed you (yes YOU) to complete earth!

You have a loving, caring, kind, proud, jealous father up in heaven that adores you and wants you to be happy and have a fulfilling life. He wants you to know that your are seen, oh so lovely, miraculous, and truly wonderful inside and out.

I pray those of you reading today, that you would feel so much peace a deep desire to know him more and learn more about who he created you to be.

If you are intrigued and want to learn more about our loving father, how he created women, and how to step into your womanhood with even more confidence, courage, and strength- then I highly recommend the book “Captivating” by Stasi and John Eldridge.
