Have you ever reflected on your life and had any regrets? Maybe you didn’t take a chance you should have taken when the moment was ripe as could be?

Maybe you were too “in your head” and talked yourself out of asking that girl or guy out? Or you’ve talked yourself out of trying out for that team, auditioning for that part, or applying for that job? Or maybe your fear lead you astray and you backed out at the last possible moment?

Most of us have had moments, seasons, or maybe even years full of regrets. We let our anxiousness, our fear of failure, or our indecisiveness take root and guide our paths.

Often we wait for the “perfect moment” or for the stars to align before we make a move. We want the perfect concoction of our finances, seasons, feelings, and several other criteria to all be in alignment.

Truth be told- there will never be a perfect time to start or do anything. There is never a perfect time or place to further your education, start a career, start a family, foster a child, launch a new business or church, join a ministry or team, write that book, go on that adventure, or take that vacation. If you are waiting for a perfect time, it’s never going to happen.

You cannot let fear call the shots in your life. You  will miss 100% of the shots in life you don’t take! Bob Goff, writer of Everybody Always says; “We will see what we spend the most time looking for”.

And it’s so true! If we are looking for reasons NOT to do something, we will surely find them. But in reverse, if we turn our focus to all the reasons why we should start something, I promise you will start to see that now is just as good a time as any to start!

Jesus didn’t want us to have regrets. He wanted us to live life to the fullest- giving it all we have, loving fiercely, and risking everything like he did, to show everyone just how amazing and faithful our God truly is. Check out Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Simply stated, we don’t have to fear- it says so in the Bible! We don’t have to be “strong enough” because our strength comes from above. We don’t have to “have it all figured” out because we will receive help along the way. We don’t have to worry about failure or falling, because God will catch us when we fall with his own hands.

“Most people try impossible things because they’ve surrounded themselves with voices they can trust”, says Bob Goff. If we continue to surround ourselves with just the right positive, encouraging, hopeful, faithful, God-fearing, daring, loving, truthful, and caring people in this world- I can almost guarantee that your life is going to be filled with many more “I did that’s” and far fewer regrets.

So let’s be like Nike and “Just Do It”!
